Alpha Translucency Alpha translucency uses the alpha channel of a texturemap?s bitmap file to set a high value for transparency of the image. A value between 0 and 1 is stored in an alpha channel. 0 is fully transparent, 1 is fully solid. By setting a value very close to 1, the result is not transparency, but translucency.
