NDT
NDT, or NonDestructive Test is a type of physical scanning system, in which no damage occurs to the original item being scanned. This type of scanner makes no physical contact with the object, but uses a form of wave analysis to scan through it, and a receiver on the other side. This allows the innards of the object to be scanned and recorded, without opening it up.
For precious objects such as living organic bodies, great works of art, and deep geological surveys, scanning and data, NDT is most definitely the preferred method of scanning.
