PRT
Precomputed Radiance Transfer, or PRT, is a method of dealing with complex lighting, without causing bottlenecks in performance. It is most frequently used in gameworlds with level layouts pre-created. This method does not usually work well with highly dynamic environments.
If all light sources are fixed in place, the radiance from any given light source in an area can be calculated ahead of time, for the entire geometric area it reaches. This is stored along with the other data for that area, such that when participants run through multiple lightsources, the precomputed data for that area can be quickly combined and calculated.
