Telesurgery

Telesurgery is literally remote-surgery. It is a nascent area in which the patient undergoing a surgical procedure, and the surgeon operating upon them, are not actually in the same physical location for the surgery.

Rather the surgeon is operating through a VR or AR interface, and their movements are recorded and translated in real-time to robotic operators that are actually inside the patient – responding to every muscle twitch and eye movement of the surgeon, as if the surgeon was standing there themselves.
