NFC
NFC or Near Field Communication is a set of standards for smartphones and other body area network or sensor web devices, intended to allow them to function as an ad-hoc network by bringing them into close proximity with one another.
NFC connection occurs instantly and seamlessly without the user's participation required, if both devices are compatible with the service (or have a compatible app running), and are brought into a range of no more than a half dozen centimetres from one another. This then allows augmented-reality style communications to take place.
