CAD
CAD or Computer Aided Design is the process of using computer systems to design products meant for physical deployment. Cars, buildings, waste paper bins, underground piping. All are designed with CAD.
Modern CAD programs are based off of parametric modelling, and are almost always 3D as a result.
In parametric modelling, an object created must be realistic - holes cannot be drilled too close to one another, or to the edge, or they will blend together, forcing a degree of physical realism.
